So, i have already had the skidoo in the shop to get the recoil working properly, and just the other day, it decided to not cooperate AGAIN...

It "skips" when you try to pull the cord, and then it stays out, and doesnt go back in.

As I said, I had it repaired once already, but apparently these sleds are known for this problem?

If the stock skidoo recoil sucks so bad, is there another option? Afermarket?

Anyone else know of this stuff with this sled?

After yesterdays fiasco I am ready to just sell it and get another polaris...

Hmmmm, there's an idea... Pretty sure I need to open er up though this time. Its not that its just sticking to the cord stays out, it also skips grabbing when you yank it at first...

Gonna take it in to skidoo and see whats up i think

WD40 could help engagment too, there is nothing to loose, give it a try.

Deejay, how much did it get used since the dealer last looked at it? From my experience with our 2 Ski-doos the hairpin (pawl retaining clip) is almost always the culprit. They either slip out of place or break.Take it back to the dealer and ask to watch them repair it.Buy a spare pin(cheap) and then having seen the repair performed you should be able to handle it in the future. Also have a good look at the rope.Is it frayed and or thick looking at any point? If so replace it. Although the recoils are far from bullet proof they should not be a steady source of frustration.

Deejay. Did you ever get this recoil problem sorted out? What was the problem? Hopefully you are still riding. Did a ride to cariboo mts Feb. 20 and posted a few pictures. Conditions were ideal for boondocking. Still very good above 5000 ft.

Just picked it up today. Cleaned it out, and replaced a couple worn parts...

Been working too much here, and between work and selling my house and the family, not much time to sled.

Hopefully will get out next weekend...
