Summit 800 Oil Pump

I've got an '01 800 Summit that after sitting through summer has filled the mag cylinder with injection oil! Looking at online parts fiche, it looks like there is a check valve between the pump and case. Has anyone seen a problem like this? Very strange, first for me! Hoping the check valve cures the problem.
