Easiest way to do this is...

1) Go to the gallery area... Link is in the menu bar up top on this page...

2) Upload a picture... (Upload as many as you want. remember that the smaller the size (in bytes) of the photo, the more you can fit in your album...)

3) When you have uploaded a pic (or pics) go to your gallery... You will see small thumbnails of your pics in your gallery.

4) Right click on the one you want as your pic on the forums... Then click Properties... This will show the actual URL to the thumbnail...

5) Use that URL to your thumbnail to enter into the pic line in your settings page...

6) To get to your settings page, click "My Home" in the menu bar up top, then go to the bottom of your home screen, and pick the link to edit your Personal information, email, password, etc...

Done! :)

What happened to the site? I don't think I hit the wrong button or anything, but I can't get away from these ads that are taking up 3/4 of the screen. I'm sure they are great sponsors, and I do happen to need a new tote sled, but I like the old format better.

Sounds like maybe your screen size is set too large?

I run at 1280x1024 and the the site looks great still...

I put the ads on to help run this site. Hosting, bandwidth, and running this site isnt free. User supported sites never live long sadly, so the banners help me keep this place going.

Those ads are actually doing quite well for this site. Today, after i put them in, the payment increased by almost 50% alone...

I could (and will think about) moving them, but the point of having them is so they are seen.

I suggest switching your screen size though for sure. At least 1128 or something. These days, surfing at 800x600 is just too small for most sites. This site looks great at 1280x1024! :)

Google ads are getting very popular these days as well. Most sites now have them. I think you will see them get more and more popular. They actually are pretty fair with the amounts they pay. It really helps sites like this to stay viable.

Dejay,

My screen size hasn't changed for years. 3 days ago these ads appeared on my screen, and since then everything is different. For instants, the box where it displays the top 5 posters, and the top 5 threads used to be about a 2 inch wide column on the left of my screen, but now it is the entire screen. The area where I am typing this post is hidden to the right, and I have to slide it over each time I go from one screen to the next. Am I the only one having this trouble? How can I fix this?

I tried taking the ads off the top and bottom to see if that has anything to do with it. (Is it working now?)

Everything looked normal to me though. I didnt see any changes, and it seems you are (so far) the only one who noticed any weirdness.

Are you on a PC (apple?)... Are you using the latest Explorer browser (IE?)

The site is back to normal now. Other users have not noticed the problem, so it looks like I could be the only one. I use internet explorer, and windows xp professional.
Maybe we can try to put the ads back on, and see how it works. Thanks for trying to help, this looks much better.

Deejay,

I did hear that one other member had the same thing, but now the ads are back on, and it is still good. Thanks very much for fixing that problem, and the advertizers should be glad too.

Actually, i havent added the ad back to the top. Its still off. THe ads on the side are still on, and always have been on.

I havent turned on the google ads in the top of the header. Just a regular banner spot, that was always there.

I decided to just leave the top header google out, since its on the side anyways.

Ok, what ever works. I never had ads on the side, or a banner across the top. I had a line of ads across the top, none on the sides. I'm just glad it is working now.

Happy sleddin
