My new digital tracker peeps were like 600-700 bucks.

How much is your life worth?

Paid just under 400 for mine. I thought I saw somewhere that you could get just a transeiver for around 100. I've been thinking about getting a couple for my kids instead of forking out that much more. Anyone else seen em?

Make sure if you buy or rent peeps that they are new and up to date... THey switched to a new frequency or something a year or two ago.

457MHz has been the standard for some time. It was the standard in Europe, and was adopted in North America in the early/mid 90's

I've run into a couple places that have dang good prices on these things. Are you allowed to post info like this on these messages or do you have to pass it along through the pm's? I was quoted around $400 for a tracker beacon, shovel, probe and pack. I paid close to that for my beacon alone. While speaking of beacons though, what are some of the favorite ones?
